I am a native of Montana, born in Billings in 1953.  I attended the University of New Mexico, and graduated in 1975 with a degree in English Literature, magna cum laude. I returned to Billings and worked as a school librarian for several years. During this time I began to paint and to make textile art, which I showed in the Castle Gallery and then in the Toucan Gallery in Billings, where I still show my art.  In 1986 I received my teaching certification from Rocky Mountain College in Billings. I moved to Missoula in 1987, where I have continued to make art and show it at different places around the country.

My fetish dolls have been featured in several magazines and in four books about unusual techniques in doll making, and about polymer clay. Some of my Day of the Dead figures were featured in the fall 2008 issue of Art Doll Quarterly.  I was chosen as Montana Artist of the Year for TOSCA Magazine in 2015.  I am married with four children, and I continue to teach art classes for children at the Missoula Art Museum and with the local SPARK Program from the Kennedy Center for the Arts, as well as teaching classes for teachers and adults around the region. I am currently working on a marionette theater, and on the illustrations for a children’s book.
