Description

Kalocsai embroidery was born in the second half of the 19th century. The original color of the needle work was only white. At the beginning of the 20th century the colours of green, pink and yellow gained ground. As done today, Kalocsa embroidery uses 27 colors, and has a set vocabulary of motifs, which are sufficient to make it a recognizable style, and yet leave room for limitless rearrangement into ever new compositions.

Hello,

My name is Polina and I am a self-taught polymer clay artist! I started working with air dry clay around 2008, two years after that I discovered polymer clay. The medium quickly became my favorite. I loved creating jewelery from air dry clay as I had my own unique little canvas where I was able to draw. Polymer clay gave me more freedom, there are literally no limits working with it. This is why I love it.

Currently I work with the embroidery technique – creating jewelery from very small pieces of polymer clay and modeling them with the edge of a needle. This technique requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. My embroidery works are inspired by folklore motifs.

Currently I have couple collections I am working on – Embroidery, Secret garden, Under the dome and Medieval treasures (for now the latter is only sketches and knowledge gathering).

My plans are pretty big as I would like to turn polymer clay into my profession. But first I need to make baby steps and set small goals to achieve success.
